ABOUT BRENT LUVAAS

Brent Luvaas, PhD. is Associate Professor of Global Studies & Modern Languages at Drexel University. A visual and cultural anthropologist, his work explores the relationships between digital technology, creative production, and the urban environment. He is the author of the books Street Style: An Ethnography of Fashion Blogging (Bloomsbury 2016) and  DIY Style: Fashion, Music, and Digital Cultures (Bloomsbury 2012), and co-editor (with Joanne Eicher) of The Anthropology of Dress and Fashion: A Reader (Bloomsbury 2019). He directs the Anthropology Minor at Drexel University and is a Faculty Member of Drexel's PhD. program in Communication, Culture, and Media.
